--Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Marketing Association Awards Sauereisen and Benner Commerce Park--
Pittsburgh, January 5, 2010 — Sauereisen and Benner Commerce Park, in conjunction with Pipitone Group, were selected as finalists and category winners for the 2009 American Marketing Association (AMA) Pittsburgh Chapter’s Marketer of the Year Awards.
Sauereisen, a leading manufacturer of specialty cements and corrosion-resistant material, was the winner in the construction category. Capitalizing on the opportunities in the industrial corrosion retrofit market, Sauereisen developed a marketing plan to maintain 2009 wastewater construction sales on par with the 2008 record sales levels.
With the help of Pipitone Group, strategic tactics were implemented to impact Sauereisen’s bottom line, including: a new Web site, a targeted public relations plan, an independent survey of engineers and facility owners and lunch-and-learn segments. These marketing efforts yielded sales results at more than 10 percent ahead of the 2009 projection.
Benner Commerce Park, a mixed-use business park containing 174 buildable acres located in Centre County, Pa., was recognized as the winner in the real estate category. Charged with positioning the business park as a premier corporate relocation site and securing one tenant form a targeted segment, Benner Commerce Park and Pipitone Group created a 2009 marketing plan to meet their goals.
With segmented research, Benner Commerce Park was able to engage key influence targets as partners and create a value proposition and selling advantage. Benner Commerce Park ran ads during Penn State University Game Day Programs, rebuilt Centre County Industrial Development Corporation’s (CCIDC) Web site to give equal time to all commerce park options, and created a direct marketing initiative for 2010.
Both organizations along with Pipitone Group were recognized for their outstanding achievement and marketing efforts at the 3rd Annual Marketer of the Year Celebration on Dec. 10, 2009.
